Positively Out

Positively Out is a national initiative that encourages and affirms PLWHA individuals that have yet to disclose their HIV/AIDS status. Recognizing the difficulty around the disclosure process, Positively Out confronts the issues and barriers that PLWHA have to face such as stigma, criminalization, public deformation, discrimination, rejection, lack of support and limited access to positive networks.

Positively Out provides a platform for HIV-positive individuals to help other PLWHAs deal with issues around disclosure by providing informative resource guides, sharing personal stories through social media, providing support for local empowerment and support groups, raising awareness of HIV stigma in medical settings, and providing current information related to PLWHA through both online resources and universal apps. Positively Out seeks to inform, but also empowers individuals to assess their own disclosure process: when, where, why, how and to whom.
