Greater Than AIDS Across the Nation


Greater Than AIDS, in partnership with Philly Faith in Action, launched the first Greater Than AIDS faith focused campaign in Philadelphia in 2012 with four local faith leaders. For the World AIDS Day Service at Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church in Philadelphia, Pastor Alyn Waller–one of the featured faith leaders–showed the video developed for the campaign. "I'm Positive," a new documentary special from MTV that aired on December 1 followed three young Americans living with HIV.


Greater Than AIDS Shows "We All Have a Role to Play" on World AIDS Day

Greater Than AIDS marked World AIDS Day with a Twitter Chat featuring Alicia Keys, Valerie Jarrett and Rep. Barbara Lee, and by teaming up with the NBA and Walgreens for exciting promotions on the court and in Times Square. Greater Than AIDS also distributed more than 32,000 materials for World AIDS Day 2012 to more than 100 organizations.


We Shall Overcome

Our nation observed the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., holiday yesterday as well as President Obama's second inauguration. All over the country Dr. King's speeches were repeated and referenced, including during the Inaugural Ceremony. Documentaries of his life aired, and street marches took place in his honor. It is very difficult to participate in a King observance and not hear the inspiring lyrics of the Negro spiritual, “We Shall Overcome.” The song symbolizes the fact that we have not reached equality; however, Dr. King and countless others believed that we would get there someday.
